This is one of my favorite low carb meals...basically it's a bacon cheeseburger in a bowl without the bun. I've eaten hamburgers with a lettuce wrap plenty of times, but once I started eating it this way, it became the ONLY way I'd eat a hamburger. Ohhhh man this is so good and you will NOT miss the bun!
Simply break up your cooked, warm hamburger patty topped with your choice of melted cheese, and then add all your favorite hamburger fixins'... Lettuce, tomato, onion, cooked bacon crumbles, jalepenos, avocado, etc., Really just whatever you'd like and then add your condiments (I used mayo mixed with mustard) and stir it all up. The mixed flavors are fantastic! It's an amazing way to enjoy a hamburger without the bun!
I do this all the time at restaraunts too. Just order your burger however you'd like, but ask them to hold the bun and add extra lettuce. Then just cut it all up and there you go!
Now, if your like the OLD me and craving a little something extra to go along with your burger...try making some cheese chips ahead of time and then packing a snack sized baggie along with you for the restaurant. Seem tacky? Who cares! I do this all the time and no one has ever blinked twice at me for it. If you live low carb, you just have to learn how to make this lifestyle work for you. You never want to feel deprived of things you love. Sometimes it takes a little extra prep work, or doing something a bit out of your comfort zone but you will NOT regret sticking to your plan and being able to enjoy yourself as well.
