I don't know why I haven't thought to share this with you guys before now, but this my favorite way to make low carb sauces (or you could call it a dressing too I guess) that you can eat warm or cold and enjoy so many different ways...salads, chicken, fish, or as a veggie dip! It's also so simple to make that it's just plain silly.

I recently posted my recipe for Low Carb Almond Bread, but I felt that this Low Carb French Toast deserved it's own post because it's JUST THAT GOOD! Seriously you guys...french toast! In the low carb world, having this as a breakfast option is just heavenly! Another bonus, it was a hit with my kids too :)
After years of experimenting with store bought low carb breads and tortillas, I am the first to admit in my distrust of most of these products. One of my best pieces of advice about this lifestyle is that if you want a low carb version of something...make it yourself. No, it's not the most convenient answer, but at least you can fully trust in your ingredients with the peace of mind that what you're making is truly low carb. My low carb lifestyle goal has always been to make the yummiest AND most simple low carb versions of foods I enjoyed before going low carb. This recipe for Low Carb Almond Bread is the perfect example of that...yummy AND simple. This is one to keep in your low carb arsenal for sure!

Breakfast is my favorite meal! It's always so motivating to start my day deliciously low carb. My goal is to always keep it simple, but to never sacrifice taste. It may sound silly, but I like to end each breakfast feeling like I spoiled myself a little bit. It's a perfect way to start the day! I thought it would be fun to do a visual round-up of 20 of my favorite and frequently eaten breakfasts!
As I started my breakfast this morning, I remembered my avocados in the fridge. I am the WORST when it comes to using avocados before they go bad. Luckily when I pulled mine out it was ripened to perfection. I love eggs paired with avocados! In fact, one of my all time recipes is a Baked Egg In an Avocado. However, I typically just slice up a half (save the other half for another day) and throw on some salt and eat it along side my eggs, but I wanted to try a little something different today. I've seen recipes for "avocado fries" floating around on the web lately, but most recipes call for flour or panko, which are both "no way's" in the low carb world. I've also seen low carb recipes that call for coating in egg and heavy cream first and then using shredded cheese, crushed pork rinds, or almond flour. Those are all well and fine i'm sure, but as usual my mind started working on how I could simplify it AND and keep it lower in carbs. The result...yummy low carb fried avocados using just 1 ingredient!

Ok, so I know I've posted a how-to for Pepperoni Chips before, but I've recently started doing them just a little bit different and WOW, what a difference this one little tweak makes. They are still so easy to make, but these taste even better! They are also thicker than my previously posted pepperoni chips so they are great for dipping or adding to salads. These continue to be one of my favorite low carb snacks. I love to make them to go with lettuce boat sandwiches as a replacement for chips or as a movie snack. They'd be great at parties too!

This recipe for Low Carb Italian Meatball Soup is one that I keep the ingredients stocked for at all times. It's so simple, but OH SO GOOD. You can whip up this comfort meal in less than 30 minutes. It's full of flavor, but without the heavy carbs. We typically think of hot soups as a Fall and Winter meal, but I make this soup year round because it's so easy to make and it's always such a hit!

We take pancakes VERY seriously around here. Luckily I have found numerous ways to make all sorts of low carb versions to satisfy my Sunday Pancake cravings. My latest recipe was made using Quest Protein Powder...the Multi Purpose Mix. I've tried many protein powders, but this was my first time using Quest Nutrition's brand. I'll start off by saying that these opinions are my own, and I have not been compensated in any way to write this post. When I like products, I like to crow about them and share them with you.

I thought i'd share one of my recent yummy dinners with you...a hamburger salad with a side of steamed squash. The salad is the one in the spotlight here though! I haven't eaten a hamburger on a bun in so many years, but I NEVER miss having a "bunburger." You know why?....because hamburger salads ROCK!

Hey low carbers! Today I wanted to share something near and dear to my heart...snacks! Seriously though, snacking is so important to my low carb lifestyle. It keeps me on track everyday. It's a mini meal between breakfast and lunch and another between lunch and dinner. Snacking is beneficial to anyone's nutritional lifestyle. By eating smaller meals more frequently and avoiding extreme hunger situations, you'll be more likely to reach for a healthy option over an unhealthy one. A healthy snack between meals curbs cravings, fights weight gain, boosts brain activity, and regulates your blood sugar which can keep mood swings and mid afternoon sleepiness at bay.

Just like cauliflower, zucchini is so versatile in the low carb world of cooking. When my family calls in delivery pizza, I get busy in the kitchen making my own yummy low carb version to keep from pouncing on the takeout box. This time I thought it would be fun to see what I could do with some zucchini. Turns out, it makes an excellent low carb pizza crust!

If there's one thing about this low carb lifestyle i'm most thankful for, it's Alfredo sauce! Alfredo sauce is low in carbs, easy to make at home, and can be poured over so many things. I always make my own and I usually double the recipe to have left overs for the week. You can pour it over veggies, meats, or..... just spoon it like I have been caught doing!

Hi everyone! I know it has been quite a long time since I've updated Sugar Free Like Me. I've not totally dropped off the Low Carb scene though. I'm pretty dedicated to my Instagram account. My Facebook Page has been challenging though. It's hard to keep up the motivation to post on there because of how much Facebook regulates the number of people who see each post, AND I DON'T have a personal FB account so I don't think about it as often. I will try to get better about it now though and definitely be checking in here for new updates. I feel more motivated than ever to share my journey with you all!
